“…If the slave knows everything else but fails to know Allah, it is as if he knows absolutely nothing…”

“…If the slave knows everything else but fails to know Allah, it is as if he knows absolutely nothing…”

Every muscle in the body was created to execute a specific function, by which, it can obtain the pinnacle of its performance. And the sickness of that particular body part is its failure to execute the function for which it was created or having some level of deficiency in performing it, if it even functions at all.
The sickness of the hand is its inability to grab or clutch. The sickness of the eye is its inability to see or observe. The sickness of the tongue is its inability to utter. The sickness of the body is its inability to move in the natural order it was created to or its deficiency in doing do. The sickness of the heart is its inability to execute the functions it was created to perform such as: being conscious of Allah, knowing Allah, loving Allah, desiring to meet Allah and turning constantly towards Him, while giving precedence to this over the heart’s every ardent desire.

“Trying to Please Everyone” is a goal that can not be reached – Shaykh Muhammad Amaan al-Jaamee

Shaykh Muhammad Amaan al-Jaamee rahimahullah said:
A caller [,scholar or student] who tries to be beloved by all the people with their different levels, preferences affiliations and groups, all of them loving him… This is a Flatterer.
A caller [,scholar or student] who tries to please all the people, [so] no one becomes angry with him… And [that] everyone says: Fulaan (so and so) is just [and] he is not disorderly… And ever sect, gang, group and party are pleases with this person… [This] is a Flattering hypocrite and there is no doubt in that.  Since this is not possible… Like [Imaam] as-Shaafi’ee mentions: “[The] pleasure of the people is a goal that can not be reached.” Thus, in view of the that fact your endeavor to please all of the people is an aim that can not be attained… But there is a goal that can be reached and it is required [of one]… Consequently, attempting to please the people is an aim that can not be attained and is not required but, the pleasure of Allah is a goal that is reachable and required… Hence, the pleasure of Allah, Glorified is He, is a goal that is attained by the one Allah grants success and exposes him to His [meaning Allah's] pleasure… [So,] His pleasure is an aim that is reachable and required, [thus] it is imperative for the caller [,scholar or student] to be concerned over this meaning when he steps into the arena of da’wah (calling)…And whoever does not have the ability to do this then indeed [let him] sit in his home…

Is it permissible for women to wear high-heeled shoes ?

[Q.2] Is it permissible for women to wear high-heeled shoes ?
[A.2] This is not permissible.
It involves resembling the disbelieving women, or the wicked women.
It has its origins amongst the Jewish women before Islaam.  When one of them wanted to attend a gathering where her lover was present, she would wear a pair of high shoes for him to see her, being taller.  Then after a time, those became high-heeled shoes.
Further, that type of shoe changes a woman’s way of walking, causing her to tilt from left to right, and therefore, the wicked and unbelievers choose this type of shoe.  Therefore, a Muslim woman following the Sharee’ah (Islaamic Law) should not wear high-heeled shoes; especially since many times it causes her to fall!

A Woman Desires to Marry a Man Who is Already Married

By: The Noble Shaykh Ahmad An-Najmee
Question:
This questioner from Britain asks: What is your advice for a sister who desires to marry a man who is already married?
Answer:
May Allaah reward her with goodness. Yes, may Allaah reward her with goodness. That is not something which should be cautioned against. Rather, it is upon her and upon all women that they should not be wary of or refrain from marrying a man who has a wife; or two wives; or (even) three. Na’am.

Advice for those women who believe that the home is a prison (for them) – Shaykh ’Uthaymeen

Sheikh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-’Uthaymeen
Translated by Abu Fouzaan Qaasim

In the name of Allaah, the Most Kind, All-Knower. May peace and blessings be upon our prophet Muhammad, his family, companions and those who follow them in goodness until the day of Resurrection. As for what follows;
Question:
Is there any advice for those women who believe that the home is a prison (for them)?
Sheikh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-’Uthaymeen, may Allaah have mercy upon him, says:

Be like an Orange

“The example of a believer, who recites the Qur’an and acts on it, is like an orange (utrujjah) which tastes nice and smells nice.
And the example of the believer who does not recite the Qur’an but acts on it is like a date that tastes sweet but has no smell.
And the example of the hypocrite who recites the Quran is like a sweet basil which smells good but tastes bitter.
And the example of a hypocrite who does not recite the Qur’an is like a colocynth (bitter apple) which tastes bitter and has a bad smell.”
[Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim ].
Commentary: This Hadith tells us that a believer who recites the Qur’an and acts upon it, Allah will grant him a high rank. He is loved by Allah and also enjoys public esteem. The believer who does not recite it but acts upon its teachings is also loved by Allah and people. The hypocrite who recites the Qur’an to have a good show has an evil and dark mind. Last of all comes that hypocrite who does not recite the Qur’an and has a dark mind and appearance.

An Amazing Story – Trust in Allah

Al Haafidh ibn Rajab mentioned in the commentary of the tabiqaat of Al Hanaabila (196/1) in the biography of Al Qaadi Abi Bakr Muhammad Abdul Al Baaqi Al Bazzaz who died in the year 535 from the migration of the Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessing be upon him. Sheik Saalih Abu Al Qaasim Al Khazaz Al Bagdadi said, “I heard Al Qaadi Abi Bakr Muhammad Abdul Al Baaqi Al Bazzaz Al Ansaari say”…
I used to live in the vicinity of Mecca, may ALLAH the Exalted protect it, so one day I was stricken with severe hunger and I did not find anything to fight against this hunger. So I found a bag made from silk, tied with a tassel that was also made from silk, so I grabbed it and took it to my house. When I unfasten it I found in it a necklace made from pearl such that I had not seen the like of it before. So when I exited my house I saw an old man that was seeking this bag. With him was a torn rag containing five hundred dinar and he was saying, “This is for the one who returns to me the bag containing the pearls.” So I said, “I am in need, I am hungry, so I will take this money and benefit from it and return to him the bag”. So I said to him, “Come to me”, so I took him and brought him to my home. So he gave me the description of the bag, and the description of the tassel, and the description of the pearls along with their number, and the description of the thread that fasten it. So I removed it from the bag and gave it to him, so he gave me the five hundred dinar, but I did not take it. Then I said to him, “It is incumbent upon me to return this to you and I will not take any reward for it.” He said to me, “You must take it”, and he persisted in this, but I would not take it from him so he left me and went about his way.

He Lost The Woman, and He Lost His Religion

Ibn al-Qayyim (Rahimahullah) narrated:
It is reported that in Egypt, there was a man who would maintain the mosques, making the call to prayer, etc. He was, by all outward means, an obedient person and devout worshipper.
One day, as he usually would, he ascended the minaret to make the call to prayer. At the base of the minaret, there was a Christian woman standing. He saw her, and was seduced by her looks. So, he descended the minaret, went to her, and entered her home. She said to him: “Who are you, and what do you want?”
